More Than Carpentry Christian Ministries (MTC) works in partnership with Classic Carpentry Unlimited, Inc. (CCU) in its Apprenticeship Program. As employees of CCU, apprentices learn the trade of carpentry on-the-job while earning wages. MTC sponsors the mentoring and text-book style learning that occurs off the job. This Biblical model allows apprentices to practice newly acquired carpentry skills under the direct supervision of qualified carpenters while working on real-time projects.  The whole person is developed while they are mentored and guided through life skills coaching, personal financial management, critical thinking, and Bible Study.

Upon completion  of the four-year apprenticeship, a Journeyman Certificate is issued from the Department of Labor Office of Apprenticeship.

If interested in applying, please complete & return the Application for Cabinetmaking & Fine Woodworking Apprenticeship Program.

Apprentices are enrolled into the MTC program as funding is available. Applications are accepted year-round for those who meet the following minimum qualifications:

  • 18 years of age & older
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Drug-free
